I’ve used many different brands and sizes of chargers. The 5w Apple is tiny, reliable and consistent. Never a complaint from my phone over 11 years and 4 phones. I have chosen this for my new iPhone 13 to avoid the rapid recharge of 20w chargers in hopes of prolonging battery life and reducing heat. I’m in no hurry. My only wish would be that they made a USB-C model so I could use the new cable that came with the iPhone 13. I buy almost exclusively Apple devices. My only complaint was the iPhone X, which developed swollen batteries twice. Not good and I suspect a design flaw in the phone as the replacement battery was not OEM.I use this as an extra charger in case I ever need it somewhere overnight it stays in my purse. Excellent apple product!!The iPhone chargers were placed in use in garage and basement. They are more convenient than moving one from house or upstairs.This is a 5 Watt charger which means that it charges your battery slower than the Hyped Up Fast chargers. Slower charging means less heat means longer battery life.Phone chargerI only gave it a 2-star 'value for the money' because I think we're paying too much for these little plastic gadgets. Otherwise, it works perfectly but I've only had it for a day..Works as advertised.It didn't catch fire, or blow-up my phone. Those are pluses. It doesn't take a lot of space on the outlet, the socket grips it well, it grips the cable's A-type connector well. More pluses! Did I put an ammeter on it to check it's charging current? No. Did I put an oscilloscope on it to see how much ripple there is on the DC voltage? No. Do I plug it into my phone and voila! ... in a reasonable amount of time my phone emerges charged and ready for me to waste copious amounts of my time once again? Yes! So we're good, my friend, we're good.It's suppose to have a green dot like the product pics shown; received one in January 2021 that doesn't have the green dot. Came across a recall from Apple saying there were reports of those without the green dot may have a safety defect where the prongs could break loose and get stuck in the wall outlet; search for the "Apple Ultracompact USB Power Adapter Exchange Program"Stopped working after a few charges. Then came back here to read comments and saw its everyones case. Wish I read firts. Decided to trust an « Apple » product. Sad…. Donc buy. Dont trust.I bought this product used. When I received it, it didn't work at all. Returned the item. Frustrated for the waste of time.The product is perfect and flawless but please pay attention that this is not USB c, I made a mistake and I had to buy an adapter for my iphone 12. Also $50 is a lot of money for this. Although it’s the same price everywhere.Apple adapter for charge ring cord it’s great love it, works really well.
